Once Upon A McLeod Kay Layton Sisk Contemporary Romance Heat Rating: 3

There’s a secret hidden at Ranch McLeod and someone wants Bethann Fox gone before she can find it and inherit the property. Fire and theft only strengthen her resolve to stay out her year--and bring out the protective instincts of Sheriff Bry Phillips, feelings he thought he’d buried long ago. She says she’s leaving when the year is over. What’s he going to do when his heart goes with her?

Review: Bethann meets Bry Phillips at her uncle Joe Thom’s Funeral, but she’d seen him before when he stopped and asked her if she and her friend Kiki needed any help. They made a good couple once they got together and had to contend with her stellar reputation and a few family secrets that managed to make their way out of the family closet. It was a fast paced, fun, enjoyable and a very suspenseful read. Kiki and Edna Earle definitely deserve to have their own stories told and they are really likeable. If you get a chance to pick up a copy you’ll really enjoy it and the complicated romance of Bry and Bethann. You won’t be disappointed. | Reviewer: Cassandra Graham |
